Magnificant Mersey!

Ok well its been too long but we are back in the blogging world!

Annually my parents and the Bardsleys (very close family friends) head down to the Mersey River Chalets for a few days in August! A few years ago we started to join them for a night over the long weekend :-) This year Mal, Ella and I shared a cottage with my sister Carrie and brother in law Kevin ...their children Kate and Eli bunked with Mom and Dad!

We had the most perfect weather ...we packed up the car the night before and left early Sunday morning ... Mal, Ella and I arrived before lunch. After a quick bite we decided to go swimming in the lake ... the water was SO warm it was lovely! Everything at these cottages is wheelchair assessible ... hence also VERY stroller assessible ... its not a big place so its quiet and you feel instantly relaxed when there. Just being away for one night we came home feeling as if we had had a mini vacation. We swam, ate and caught up with the fam ... the summer was so very busy that these days were much needed!

Ella loved the water ... and there are canoes and kayaks too ... we all had a ball!

Kate and I had a lot of fun challenging the mouth of the river ... however the river always won and Kate LOVED it ...you could have sworn she was on a roller coaster :-)!
You cannot have a campfire without smores.... YUM!
I love this photo ... these are the "Grumpy Old Men" ... Dad and Papa John enjoyed themselves at the campfire too ... Mersey River is really a wonderful place ... it even manages to make these two relax too!!

We look forward to going back next year for sure!
