Road trip to Ontario!

Sorry this is a little late! I have been trying for days to get caught up :-)

So on the 8th of June Mal, Ella and I packed up the car and headed out on a bit of a road trip. Our timeline was surrounded by weddings; we had to be in Toronto by Sat at the latest for my cousin Carey's wedding reception and home by Friday the 16th as friends of ours were getting married on June 17th (also Ella's 1st b'day!)

We drove for 6.5 hours the first day and made it to Edmunston. Ella did a great job in the car, we had her weighed right before we left and she was just enough to turn the car seat around, this was a life saver as I could even feed her bottle whilst we drove!

The next day we headed out early, stopped lots but made it to Aunt RuthAnn & Uncle Lutz's place by 9:30pm.




On Saturday morning Mal and Ella settled in to watch some World Cup on Lutz's big screen and we ladies (Me, Mom, Aunt RuthAnn & Aunt Betty) went shopping! We were home in plenty of time to be ready and join everyone at Stoney's for Carey & Chris' wedding reception! It was a fun evening and we were SO happy to be there!

Ella was so good, we changed her into PJ's around 8:30 and she fell fast asleep in her stroller as the music blared! God love her ability to sleep anywhere!!



We stayed in TO for the next few days, relaxed, shopped, went for walks (it was SUNNY in TO ...it was pouring in Hfx) and spent sometime with the fam. On Tuesday evening Sundance; my cousin Cam's wife, graciously babysat for us and Mal and I went to see Dave Mathews! This was a LONG time coming as I have been wanting to see him for years :-) It was an outdoor concert at the Molson amphitheatre, and it was fabulous!

After packing the EL ...it was stuffed! We said goodbye and drove to Ottawa to see Julian. We managed to get a hotel room right across the
street from his apartment.!

We took a little drive around Ottawa and then met up with J for dinner. It was great to see him in his environment...he fits into the city so very well!! We had a nice evening and then I met J for breakfast the next morning ...loved the Sconwich J - thanks!

From here we drove to Quebec city .... and spent the afternoon and evening in Old Quebec. I had not been there since Junior High so it was lovely! The weather was great so we walked around all afternoon and went out for a fabulous dinner!


All the while our little princess was loving it! Yes she is part of our family...long rides in the car...meals in strange places and sleeping somewhere different most nights :-) As we traveled back home to Hfx Mal and I started to wonder if Ella might think that we just lived like this now ... Traveled to a new spot ... set up the plan pen and we were set!

After a long drive we were all happy to arrive home to our own beds! We had to get some rest as somebody's first birthday was the next day!!!

All in all it was a great vacation and Ella could not have been better, looks like there could be more road trips in our future!!
