Spring Beans BIG Birthday Party!

This past Saturday a few of us Mommies decided to have one big birthday party for all our little Spring Beans! With fear of being invited to 18 birthday parties we thought this might be a better way to celebrate :-)! Our friends Joanna and Brooke (and her husband Paul) hosted the party at their house. As it was on a Sat afternoon we decided it would be great to have the Daddies there too!
It was a lovely warm and sunny day and everyone but one family managed to attend. Joanna's house was decorated so nicely ... she had pictures of the kids from throughout the year blown up and pinned up all over the house. Another friend and Mom, Kim had a DVD slideshow of photos from the whole year made and this was also playing ...we also got a copy, it will be the nicest keepsake!! And of course there was food galore as everyone contributed... I made some cupcakes!

Ella tried her first cupcake ...oh she was so funny! She went straight for the icing and the little candy stars ... after tasting the sweet icing she proceeded to take the whole top of the cupcake off and tried to put it in her mouth!! Prior to this she has not had much that was sweeter than a peach!

In the past (Halloween, Xmas etc) we had managed to get group photos of all the babies but now that they are all VERY mobile we thought it would be best if we held them while the Daddies took the pictures! (nice job Mal!)

Jennifer, one of the Mom's brought a few prizes and organized a few games (I had no idea how she was going to do this) however she was quite smart as we put all the kids in the same room and she threw a bunch of different colored baby spoons on the floor ... whoever picked up the only green one won! And sure enough it worked :-)! There was also a prize for the marked birthday hat and Ella won some gerber baby treats!!
A lot of Moms have already gone back to work so it was nice to get to see some of them again, and really nice to meet the Dads .... you don't know how many people said to me "Oh my Jill where does Ella get her red hair, I thought for sure Malcolm would have red hair!" LOL !! I think the whole ordeal was a little overwhelming for the Dads but we really appreciated them joining us!

Ella is the youngest in the group and won't be one until June 17th, we will be having a family and close friends party in a few short weeks (ugh ... work is coming soon!!!)
