Work & Daycare... WHEW!

Well the first week of work and daycare is over and we are now beginning the second; I have to say that last week was better than I expected. Ella was GREAT at daycare and didn't cry when until Friday ... at this point she was exhausted from a very busy week! She had lots of fun everyday, ate well and slept "a little".

My work week was pretty good, I am still waiting for my PC as they ordered a new one for me but sadly it is STILL not here! This has given me time to unpack all the stuff I left behind when I left so quickly last year and get organized. As of Friday I had access so I could use a co worker's PC as they were on vacation. I am hoping things should come together by the end of this week. As there have been many changes in my dept I am going to be working on a project from now until the end of the summer; I will then be returning to my leadership role. I have to say I think this is PERFECT! I really don't think that I could handle the demands of a big team as well as trying to balance home/daycare life :-) By the time I return to my actual role we should have somewhat of a routine down pat!

Just as I was told by many other Mom's with kids in daycare ... the first week went well and today Ella was home sick! She has a fever and seems to be getting a cold; I knew this would happen! Fortunately between Mal and I and the help of my Mom we are sorting things out until she is better ... I hope its not like starting all over again!

I have to say its a really tough transition, I miss Ella SO much during the day ... kinda feels like a I am missing my right arm; something always feels missing :-(, however when I know its time to leave work and go downstairs I feel instant butterflies in my stomach and cannot get there fast enough. When she sees me she smiles ... puts out her arms and then cries!! I cannot seem to get to her quick enough! And the weekends ...ahhh I love them ... its such a treat to spend all day with both Ella and Malcolm ...I am certainly coming to understand why they say its not the amount of time you spend but how you spend the time that you have together!

I've been thinking about you and how everything is going. Thanks for the update! Oh, the daycare illnesses. The first year is the worst. This too shall pass.

I love that picture of Ella, by the way. It's too cute!
