The Spring Beans

For the past 8 months every second Wednesday, Ella and I have been meeting up with a great group of Mom's and Babies. It all began when a few of us met up at the Baby Reels (movies) which is on the odd Wed ... some of us recognized each other from prenatal classes months before and then everyone brought along one or two people. Soon enough we had a group of close to 20 Mom's and babies and named our group the Spring Beans as all the babies were born in the Spring of 2005.

This week was our second last Wed meeting as most of the Mom's are heading back to work, Ella is the youngest in the group and I have to say I am happy to be on this end! This group of women have really kept me sane over the past several months ... the countless emails about sleep ..lack thereof, eating, breastfeeding and baby gear have been so very helpful! Just when you think you are at the end of your rope there is someone sharing the same problem ... or having one much worse!! I have learned so very much from all of them! While there are a few Moms and babies we will no doubt see often the odds of us all having time for large get togethers are somewhat unlikely. We are going to make effort to try Saturday's once a month ... but weekends are busy for us so we shall see. Fortunately we have scheduled a few Mommies nights out ...and they have always proved to be fun!! We try hard to not always talk about babies but that never really works!

Ella and Lucas - January 2005. Lucas Cowie was Ella's very first friend, I met his mother Crystal at the Drop In Center when Ella was 6 weeks old. He is one month older that Ella and we sure enjoy playdates with them!!

Playing with my good friends Kate and Brooke. Both Kim and Joanna were in my prenatal classes and we are all part of the Spring Beans. The six of us also get together on Monday's for playdates and lunch!

I am really going to miss these weekday play dates and fun with the Spring Beans when I have to go back to UGH....oh I don't even want to think about it!
